Oct. 5, 2017 -- The Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners set three public hearings for an economic development investment, proposed text amendments and proposed transportation program application. The hearings will take place in the Board of Commissioners' Meeting Room, located on the second floor of the Cabarrus County Governmental Center, 65 Church Street SE, Concord.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INVESTMENT
  
 
Notice is hereby given that the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. (or as soon thereafter as persons may be heard) on Monday, October 16, 2017, in the Board of Commissioners’ Meeting Room, located on the second floor of the Cabarrus County Governmental Center, 65 Church Street SE, Concord, to consider an economic development investment for Project Secure pursuant to N.C. General Statute § 158-7.1. Project Secure proposes a projected investment of additional manufacturing capability in Cabarrus County of approximately $13.5 million in personal property and the hiring of ten additional employees.  A three-year grant equivalent to 85 percent of the ad valorem taxes on the increase in personal property tax values is requested. The proposed draft agreement is available for inspection in the Office of the Clerk to the Board at the Governmental Center.

Notice is hereby given that the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m. (or as soon thereafter as persons may be heard) on Monday, October 16, 2017, in the Board of Commissioners’ Meeting Room, located on the second floor of the Cabarrus County Governmental Center, 65 Church Street SE, Concord, to consider an economic development investment for The Silverman Group for Concord Airport Business Park Phase 3, pursuant to N.C. Gen. Stat. §158-7.1. This project consists of three components: a) modification of an existing grant agreement to increase the size of Building 1 to over 500,000 square feet; b) construction of a 252,646 square foot spec building (Building 2); and c) construction of a 451,074 square foot spec building (Building 4). The total net investment is projected to be approximately $18 million, after adjustment to the cost of Building 1, from the original projected investment. It is anticipated that the project will create new construction-related jobs. A three-year grant equivalent to 85 percent of the ad valorem taxes on the increase in real property tax values is requested. TRANSPORTATION PROGRAM APPLICATION 
 
This is to inform the public that a public hearing will be held on the proposed FY19 5311 Community Transportation Program Application and the FTA 5307 Urbanized Formula application to be submitted to the North Carolina Department of Transportation no later than November 3, 2017. The public hearing will be held on October 16, 2017 at 6:30 p.m. in the Board of Commissioners’ Meeting Room located on the second floor of the Cabarrus County Governmental Center, 65 Church Street SE, Concord.
Those interested in attending the public hearing and needing either auxiliary aids or services under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or a language translator should contact the ADA Coordinator at 704-920-2100 48 hours prior to public meeting
The Community Transportation Program provides assistance to coordinate existing transportation programs operating in Cabarrus County as well as provides transportation options and services for the communities within this service area.  These services are currently provided using Cabarrus County Transportation Services are rendered by Cabarrus County.
